Designed to be used over any absorbent flat or fitted nappy, day or night. Alpaca wool is naturally water resistant, because of this alpaca nappy covers do not require lanolin (although you can add it to increase the water resistance if you wish). They’re also faster drying than their merino counterparts.
Wool is thermoregulating meaning it’s warm in the winter but cool in the summer. Our super soft alpaca nappy covers will not leave any sock marks so you can be assured your baby is as comfortable as possible.
These covers must be handwashed only, but they only need washing every 2-4 weeks unless soiled. Full care instructions are here. Just leave them to air between uses. It sounds impossible but they really won’t smell and are naturally antibacterial.

Each order will be sent with a hand-tied small bunch of organic lavender, also grown here at my home. Lavender is a natural moth-repellent to preserve your nappy when not in use. The bunches are tied using scrap fabric and yarn to make them as eco-friendly as possible.
Perfect for sensitive skin and allergies. Alpaca fibres are very smooth (smaller, and flatter scales than even merino wool) making it extremely gentle and soft against the skin.
Alpacas produce little to no lanolin which is present in sheep’s wool. Most people who suffer from allergies to wool are actually reacting to the lanolin rather than wool fibre. Any lanolin in alpaca wool is naturally washed out during the cleaning process. It is this lack of lanolin which makes alpaca hypoallergenic.
Reactions to dyes or the chemicals used in processing are also common. But our products are all dye-free, and the processing doesn’t involve any harsh chemicals.

We’ve been using our cover every night for 2 weeks now. I washed it when it arrived and I’ve not washed it otherwise. It gets aired during the day and it still smells lovely and fresh. Alpaca fleece really is amazing!
It also doesn’t need lanolised and, although during heavy wetting nights it’s felt damp on the inside, it’s never leaked onto her clothing.
The only thing I have noticed is that it does shed some fibres, so her legs need a little defluffing in the morning but it doesn’t bother her – in fact her sleeping has generally improved since she’s been wearing it. We were starting from a very low point though.

The alpaca fleece is incredible due to it repelling moisture naturally.
We will definitely be purchases a couple more in the other colours.
